So far this week…

We invited group 3’s mums and dads in.

We’ve learned facts about dinosaurs in our topic lessons as well as through the books you’ve lent us – thank you!

We woke up our stick insects…

We practised our listening skills through an app called, ‘A Minute of Listening’ which holds a collection of minute long sound recordings. We closed our eyes to make our ears work harder and discussed what we thought we heard afterwards. Today we listened to a skylark chirping, and yesterday it was hard not to boogie along to jazz music!

Images and videos parental consent form

Next week a photographer is coming into school to take photographs for the school’s new website, we are still missing completed image consent forms for several children.  If you haven’t already please can you complete and return the forms for asap.  You need to complete the form even if you do not consent to photographs of your child being taken.  You can download a copy of the consent form here or please pick up a form from the school office. Thank you.

This week

This week, RCR will be:

Topic – starting our topic on dinosaurs by learning facts through information books (if you have any non-fiction dinosaur books, we would be grateful if we could borrow them for the next two weeks, TIA)

Maths – learning about halving

Phonics – continuing to improve sentence writing in order to reach / exceed the early learning goal in writing

Polite reminder about reading books

It is important that children bring in their reading books on Mondays in order for us to change them weekly. Miss Wise and I allocate a lot of time on a Monday to read one to one with the children and to change their books, and it becomes difficult when there are less books to choose from. It is also important that children practice with a different book every week. Please replace any lost books with ones that we could send home for practising reading. Thank you for your continued support.
